User interface and updater for F-Prot DOS has been revised to handle
settings options for the latest version of F-Prot. A drive volume info
feature has been added. A problem was fixed concerning the lack of
default settings in case the user ignored the use of scan setting
options. A new f-prot.rpt report file was not being generated in that
case (for one thing).

In using the "SuperLite on demand antivirus scanner using KAV scan
engine" when it detects something it says, to paraprase; view report in
listview. Could you tell me where it is or how to view it?
Thank you,

Thank you,

The only listview that I'm aware of is the one that's right there on
the GUI. You scroll the list up and down using the arrows. It doesn't
seems to create a report file.

Did you give it something to alert on such as the eicar test file?

Right click on the list in the GUI and you'll get a file requester
prompt to save it as a .log file.

Unfortunately it frequently pagefaults just before saving the list of
viruses found - seems to depend on the length of the report.

Shame really would be easy to write a script to automatically
rename or delete the files it reports as viruses

Good observation!

Unfortunately, cleanup and disinfection usually aren't that easy.

I went by too fast to read. I'm going to run it again.
I ran F-Prot in the morning before Superlite. Didn't find anything.
I ran avast! after Superlite and and found one in a Mozilla preferences
folder. I am going to run it again right now to see if I can read it.
Details will follow.

I ran F-Prot again with "Dumb Scan" on. It didn't find anything.
I ran K again and found 5 corrupt files, including a temp file which I
can't get my hands on right now but I will. Deleted the four leftover.
Downloaded the 30 day trial and it found them in the recycle bin. (doh!)
But all is well now.
You have to have IE 5.5 or later to have it installed (the personal
version) which is a bummer. But I have IE -the Sleeping Dragon-
inactivated anyway.
I'll look for the test file and run in the morning.
