First of all I hope I posted this in the right area. Sorry if I did not.
Could not find a WIN2K3 general forum.

I have a WIN2K3 WITH SQL SERVER 2K SP3 ON IT. The server crashed and I
replaced the 2 disks that failed in the raid. Performed basic install and
then installed Veritas. Did the restore in AD restore mode etc. Everything
worked great. I then noticed the schedule wasnt working. Uninstalled BE then
re-install. Still no go. When I schedule a job BE says not in time window. Go
and edit the job schedule and it just disappears. So then I called Veritas
support and they walked me thru a full removal procedure. Then a fresh
install Service pack updates etc. Then finally they tell me after going thru
3 engineers on their side to remove tape drive and install on another server.
My problem is this site doesnt have another server.

I can manually start the backup jobs I created and they run with no errors.
Just cant get the jobs to run on a schedule.

Has anyone else had this problem and did they find a solution other than
what I am about to do. I am about to format the drive and re-install WIN2k3
and re-create AD and everything else that goes with it manually.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

It's a while since I used BackupExec on Win2000 and I do not
remember if it creates a scheduled job in the Task Scheduler or
not.

If it does then I recommend you check if the Task Scheduler
works properly, by scheduling a simple job like this one:

@echo off
echo %date% %time% Start of test job > c:\test.txt

Nick go to the following News Group URL for support on Veritas Backup Exec software...

Thanks guys for the input. I will try what you suggested. Just so you know BE
does not use the Task Scheduler to run any jobs. It runs as a seperate
service part of itself.

That's what I thought. So does my enterprise backup solution, CA Arcserve 11.1.
