Hello,

I would like to represent vectors in the text with a vector arrow above the
symbol, without increasing the line spacing. Any idea how this can be done?

Many thanks in advance,
Rob.

You can place a vector arrow over any character by using the EQ field as
explained in http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Overbar.htm, or you can use
the Equation Editor.

In either case, to prevent the line spacing from increasing, you'll have to
use the Format > Paragraph dialog to set the line spacing to an Exact value.
With any other setting, Word would automatically increase the line spacing
to accommodate the taller "character". When you apply Exact spacing, beware
of the tops of characters being cut off -- you might have to allow an extra
point or two.
