vcard file saves to wrong address book

I have a problem with vcard files being saved into the
windows address book (*.wab)by default. Im not sure how
this came about. It is Outlook 2000.

The vcard should be able to be saved to the outlook
contacts list but i have been unsuccessful in finding out
how to change this setting. I did find an article in the
MS knowledge base which suggests changing the default
*.exe file for the file extension, but the solution does
not appear to fit exactly with Windows 2000.

There is no way in Windows 2000 to add the required
parameters as per the article.

I would be very grateful for any help

Explain what you mean.
That article tells you how to do it. Why can't you?

Thanks Russ.

I have fixed the issue anyway. It appears that outlook
had not become the default handler for contacts even
though it was specified as so. In IE Properties, I tried
changing the default handler for contacts back to address
book hitting apply and then changing to outlook and again
applying the setings to no avail. Eventually I set the
default handler back to address book and left it. When I
opened outlook again it prompted me to change the default
and I did. Problem solved.
