vbscript to compact access db gets error

I get an error message when I install the vbscript on the users desktop
to compact the access backend.
"c:documents and settings\ann\destop\compact.vbs"

Not a valid account name or password
800A0BD5
DAO.DbEngine

Do I need to be an administrator on the desktop to run vbscript? iT LOOKS
LIKE IT BRINGS UP THE ACCESS LOGON WINDOW so I'm not sure if it is a vbscript
error, a permissions error or a Access issue.
