I have a vb.net 2005 desktop application that I would like to deploy to
specified desktops. I am following the directions in this link on how to
deploy: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/k3bb4tfd(VS.80).aspx.
This URL works fine except I am not able to do the following:

1. drag a shortcut that is created in the deployment to the desktop of the
user.
2. The application appear in any of the options from the start menu.

Thus can you tell me what I need to do also to complete this task.

Are you saying in (1) that at this paragraph: "To create shortcuts for
the Windows-based application", you cannot drag the shortcut to the
users desktop folder? Do you see the users folder in the navigation
panel on the left?

To answer (2) you would do a similar thing, which is creating the
shortcut, but in the start menu folder. I apologize if the folder name
here is wrong. This is from memory, and I don't have full VS at home.
