vb.net - windows forms - McAfee

I'm using visual studio 2003. I created a form using the drop down list.
The list is getting populated from a sql database. The list is getting
populated, but the words don't show up. I can arrow down through the list
and the selection moves down through the list.. the data selected shows up
on the top line, but the row selected is blank. I can select one of the
rows and launch into another form and the data is getting used for another
sql query. All is working correctly except the drop down list doesn't
display the values. I've read that McAfee version 8 can cause this. anyone
know of a way to fix this problem???

Typically this behavior is caused by a McAfee VirusScan problem that NAI is
aware of and that can be fixed by installing a patch:

Patch 5 for McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i
