Hmmm..... Which version of which application do you try to install on which
version of which operating system?

Did you find a solution or the right group meanwhile or can we still help?

Armin

No, I have not found any solution to my problem. All groups and info are for
windows ME/NT, and as I previously stated I have XP. So I would greatly
appreciate some help.

microsoft.public.vb is the root of several groups for asking VB6 questions.

No offense or anything, but that was not in the least bit helpful. As I
previously and plainly stated, all the groups and info are for windows ME/NT.

How did you get that idea. All the current program languages are meant for
W9x/NTx systems including in W9x Me and in NTx (NT5.1) XP.

You probably find an answer for your question in the newsgroup.

microsoft.public.vb.generaldiscussions.

Because of an old naming mistake (while that name is in all kind of 'links'
and therefore unchangeable) of Microsoft is that vb newsgroup solely for
older Visual Basic programming.

We would as well be glad if this newsgroup had a more general name than as
it is now (it is the major VB .Net newsgroup and one of the 3 major .Net
newsgroups.

As I would give the major weakest of Microsoft as long as it exist, than
would be giving wrong names to everything be far on top with a large gap
behind that.

I hope this helps

The microsoft.public.vb.* groups are not limited to a specific OS, whereas
this group covers VB.Net language related questions only and the m.p.vb.*
groups cover questions about previous VB versions only.
