Hi folk,
I'm experiencing what appear to be random boot errors on first boot up of a
day or after machine has been off for a while.
Nothing has been altered lately, I've not even put sp2 on yet!
Unfortunately, being blind, i can only tell what is going on when it finally
succeeds in botting to windows and my speech starts..
So, how can I get my hands on info on what the machine was up to when it
encountered problems?
Sometimes it resets almost straight away after you hear the floppy buzz, or
it might get to the fade up screen, then lock or reset, or it might taunt
you and get as far as the music and then lock, playing the last chord over
and over or just reset.
OK, you get the error reporting box up, and you can, I imagine find the
file, but what is a dmp file and can I read it in a textual way?
I suspect that its either some odd connection fault when cold, or maybe a
noisy fan or psu, but since I don't have a spare of either, I'd really like
to find out some info.
I suppose as it seems so random, and only happens when cold, that might
point me some place...
