I, too have been affected by the change to the task scheduler in XP (home)
SP2. Having read many posts on the subject, I was able to get my scheduled
jobs running again. My twist on this topic is that even though the jobs run,
there is no interactive display for those task which should open screens or
dialog boxes. The service has the box checked to allow interaction with the
desktop. What am I missing???

You must schedule jobs to run under the same account as
your foreground account if you want them to be visible.

This is an XP (home edition) system where I am the user and the job has been scheduled to run under my account. This problem seems to have started when some of the XP SP2 related updates were applied. I, unfortunately can't pinpoint an exact point in time or the patch involved. The jobs most concerning me are the periodic virus scans run for my Norton anti-virus.
