Variable Ranges

I have an application that requores that I use COUNTA over a column
range that varies from spreadsheet to spreadsheet. Is there any way
that I can incorporate this into a macro?

Probably. But you'd need to clarify what output exactly you want (as in,
what "incorporate" means) and also how the variable range can be determined.

A good example would help.
