ValidationRule for 8 digits?

In one field, I want to validate data to make sure every row contains an 8 digit number. The number is used for identification, not calculations, so I've chosen to treat it as Text. But I still want to enforce the "only digits" rule. The help says '0' means one digit, but Access doesn't seem to accept a rule like '00000000'. Why?
