Validation List to exclude Blanks

Is there a way to have a list that is linked to a named
range to miss out cells with a zero value? (So there
aren't blank options in the drop down)
 
If you are using Data Validation, List option,
just check the "Ignore Blank" check box.

I tried that, it had no effect.
(Whether cells were equal to ZERO or BLANK)
 
Can you sort the range so the blank cells are at the end of the list?
That should eliminate them from the dropdown list, even if the blank
cells are within the named range.
