I have downloaded an application program from a trusted site to help me with
Genealogy research. Unfortunately I am unable to 'run' it because it is "NOT
A VALID WIN32 APPLICATION!. The advice I received from the supplier support
was that a file had been corrupted and that I should (i) redownload and (ii)
switch off my anti virus to run. I have followed these instructions twice
but the same error message appears. Can anyone help me overcome this blip.I
operate Windows XP (Home) and have no other problems

SP2 blocks downloaded files. New files downloaded onto your system will not
run unless you rightclick the file, Properties, and click the "Unblock"
button (e.g. a htm file that runs activex)
