v-lookups

I'm struggling with some vlookup formulas. I'm going to be taking some
Excel level I and II evening courses, but not in time to help me understand
vlookup formulas I need at work soon. I'm googling of course.... but does
anyone know of a good primer site that can walk me through beginning to
intermediate vlookup formulas?
It's going to be very basic for a warehouse enviornment:
*I enter a product code in column A
*I need a description result in column B
*I need a pack size result in column C
*I need a pick location in Column D

The list will be in another workbook.
