Utility to identify MPEG2 characteristics

I have this great utility called GSpot that identifies everything you
would want to know about any avi-file, but it does not support MPEG.

Is there any such utility that identifies bitrate, aspect and any
other characteristics in MPEG?
(Especially but not limited to MPEG2)

Thanks,

Much more than Gspot:

Avicodec
http://avicodec.duby.info/

And a lot faster than Gspot!
another great feature of Avicodec is that it can browse an entire folder
for media files and list them with their characteristics. You can even
export that list to CSV.
