Using the same signature in new and reply messages - the secret

Among all of the other stuff that you do like creating an html file
with the signature, the following must be checked. And it works fine
then.

Use MS Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages

Okay - I just found out that if that message received is in plain text,
all bets are off. I am back at square one. What can make this work!?
