Using pictures in report

I have a report that prints over 100 pictures, from 2-10 pictures per record.
In order to accomplish this with Access 2003, I saved the pathname for the
pictures, exported the data to Excel and then used Publisher to make the
actual report. If I were to use 2007, would I be able to do this report
within Access, or would it be better to continue exporting the data, and
doing the report in Publisher? Hope this makes sense.

You can do it with any version of Access back to version 2.0. Simply add a
subreport with a record for each path, and an image control (or previous to
Access 97, and unbound OLE object) for each record.

You may be able to avoid the "crashing before finishing" by using the
techniques in the link in the second paragraph below.

approaches to handling images in Access, and the download includes an
article discussing considerations in choosing an approach. Two of the
approaches do not use OLE Objects and, thus, avoid the database bloat, and
some other problems, associated with images in OLE Objects.

If you are printing the images in reports, to avoid memory leakage, you

PrintFailure.zip is an Access97 MDB containing a report that fails during
the Access formatting process prior to being spooled to the Printer Driver.
This MDB also contains code showing how to convert the contents of the Image
control to a Bitmap file prior to printing. This helps alleviate the "Out of
Memory" error that can popup when printing image intensive reports.
