Using my web mail

Ok so I am unable to send messages using windows mail. I have read many posts
that said to uninstall Norton and McAfee and use AVAST while telling it not
to scan e-mails. I have done all of this. I am still unable to send emails
and while I'm sure eventually i could figure it out...ok probably not, I
would rather just go back to using my yahoo account. Unfortunatelly when I
go back to yahoo my old messages are not there. I can get new messages but I
would really like all of those old emails. How can I fix this?

Thanks!
Ashley

The old Yahoo messages are probably gone from the Yahoo site
because you downloaded those messages into Windows Mail.
There is no simple way to get those messages back into Yahoo.
You would have to send them back one-by-one to your Yahoo address,
after making sure that Windows Mail is no longer downloading
Yahoo mail.

If you want help getting Windows Mail's sending fixed,
reply back with a copy of any error message.

I too am not able to send or reply to emails. This has been going on since
April. I can receive emails fine. I have contacted my cable provider and
the problem is not on their end. I have also uninstalled McAfee. Can
someone please tell us what to do. I am tired of having to copy and paste
incoming emails to my yahoo account. I have set up a squirrel account but
still have to copy and paste. This is my home business email account and I
really need it to work properly. Help please!!!

Have you tried removing your account from Windows Mail, and entering it new?
If you get an error message, please post it here.

Windows Mail is virtually redundant.
Try its replacement...

Hey I'm not sure if it will work for you, but this worked for me.

I have read quite a bit about people being unable to use a free yahoo account
for their windows mail. I just wanted to let you know that I am able to do
it so I thought I would let you know the settings to use.

Your pop is pop.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP is smtp.mail.yahoo.com

on the advance settings, you have to set the Outgoing mail server port
number to 587

The incoming mail port server needs to be 995

On the incoming mail server port in the advanced settings, check the button
that says "this server requires a secure connection.

I think that is is. If you have any problems or questions feel free to
comment.

Thanks

Ashley, who is your ISP?
Do you know if they partner with Yahoo?

I did remove my account and then entered it new but it still didn't work.
There was no error, the email I tried to send went to my outbox and stayed
there just as all the others did. I am however able to delete the messages
in the outbox. I am just tired of this problem, so I just downloaded
Thunderbird 2 and will use that instead of WM.

Thanks for everyone's help.
