Using music symbols in Access

I have a database (Access 2003) for music resources. Is it possible to
insert special music symbols into controls, reports, etc?

eg, when I record the key of a music piece as Bb, can I show the 'b' as a
proper flat sign? (I think it is Unicode 1D127, and in the Windows character
map it is Marl font, 0073)

If you're using the appropriate font, you should be able to include any
Unicode characters you want.

Hi Peter,

Unicode provides for a "Music Flat Sign", natural, and sharp at U+266D,
U+266E and U+266F respectively. You just need to use a Unicode font that
includes these glyphs as well as the usual Windows characters (e.g.
Arial Unicode MS or Lucida Sans Unicode).

You should search for Yo Tomita's Bach font, which is intended for
typing text and music into a document. This will work fine for
Access controls. Fonts intended for music notation packages *won't*
work, for two reasons:

1. they generally have line heights that don't work in text
contexts.

2. in Access controls, you can't mix fonts, so you wouldn't be able
to have text and music symbol fonts together.

There are other music/text fonts, too, but Bach is free and works
very well.
