Using macros on different versions of Excel

I am creating Excel sheets that are used on computers running different
versions (2000 onwards) of Excel and different language versions. Using
Excel 2003 for creating the sheets and recording/modifying the VBA
code, I get results that work perfectly well when I test them on Excel
2003.

However, some of the macros generate errors when run on other Excel
versions? Is there a way to know, without sending the files for a
trials to the users and without having access to all previous versions
for testing, to know the common denominator scripts that work on Excel
2000 onwards.

My problems are mainly with
- Hide/Unhide sheets
- Paste Special Values
- Sorting

I don't know that there is a general dictionary of compatability issues. I
have run into the same problem where I work. I generally find a computer
with xl2000 and test the code. If I need to make any changes I make them on
the that computer as the newer versions of xl are generally backwards
compatible.

With the problems you have listed there have been no major changes just
minor syntax changes. Without more info this is the best answer I can give.

If you want to post examples of what is not working we can see about testing
and giving the correct syntaxes.
