Using Macro to Open Filter by form, clear grid, then run filter

Access 2007

I am NOT an Access expert. However trying to design some data entry forms
for folks that know even less than I on how to use Access.

I have a contacts form. I created a command button that opens the
FilterbyForm. However, I'd like to then be able to clear any current filter
before the user adds their own filter and then have a run button as the
toggle filter button seems to confuse some.

Any help would be appreciated.
