using GPO to prevent installations

I want to keep people from installing *.exe on my network using
GPO. Where is the location of this option in the GPO?

You can use the software restriction policy in the GPO -you can found this
in the "security Settings" in the GPO.
you can use the Path rule and restrict all the .exe files.

A path rule would be useless here as you would need to enter the path to all
the .exe files in your domain. Maybe a File Type rule would help.
