Using GPO security templates from WinXP Security Guide on Win2000 Pro machines

Does anyone know of issues using the group policy security templates from
the WinXP security guide to secure Windows 2000 Pro machines?

Are there security templates for Win2000 Pro that can be imported like the
WinXP security templates and, if so, where can they be found?

Thanks,

I would not recommend using XP templates as they have many more/different options
than W2K has and results will be unpredictable to say the least which would not be
security best practices. Be very careful applying templates as you can find out that
too much security can cause lack of accessibility with downlevel computers and other
computers with incompatible settings. In addition to what Steve Riley listed, here is
another link to free available templates from NSA [hopefully they know what they are
doing] and I recommend you read the KB link on problems that can arise with
incompatible settings for security policy. --- Steve

and you will want to print or bookmark it.
