using forms in word

I have created a form in word. When you go to type text into the form, the
line contines to lengthen. How can I stop it at say 3 lines or limit the area
the response may go into to 3 lines?

Insert the form field in a table cell. Click Table > AutoFit > Fixed
Column Width. Then click Table > Table Properties > Row, check
"Specify height", set the height to just enough to show three lines
(try 36pt and then adjust if necessary for font size), and change from
"At least" to "Exactly".

Users can type more, but it'll disappear below the bottom of the cell.
