Using Forms for Query Criteria

Hello All,
I'm using a form, that is not attached to any table or anything, as a place
for a user to enter criteria for a query rather than having them go into the
query itself. The user enters criteria in such fields as 'State',
'EventDate', etc...
This works fine if only one 'State' is needed. When I try wildcards on the
form I get nothing in the query. Any thoughts on how to get multiple (or
all) states?
