I've installed Excel 5 on Windows XP and Office XP is installed as well. I'm
having a lot of trouble with various marcro functionality. When I try to run
a macro in Excel that is not very basic I get the following message: Run-
time errror '1004'; Work03.xls: file format is not valid. However if I have a
very basic macro it will run. Another problem is that some auto-open macros
run part way and then just stop without showing an error message.

Has anyone out there tried the same? If so have you run into similar
problems? How were they resolved?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated,

Roger

Excel 5 would need to be installed first and in a seperate folder than
Office XP. If you installed Excel 5 last, you should probably re-install
Office XP.

I'm very surprised that Excel 5 would even install, much less run,
on WinXP. If I remember correctly, it always needed to have a DOS
file, Share.exe, started at boot-up and resident in memory.
