Using Dual Monitors w/built in speakers??

Has anyone tried a dual monitor setup, where both monitors have built
in speakers. Would there be a problem (i.e. feedback) with splitting
the speaker output and running it into both monitors or would this be
a bad idea?

No feedback if there's no input device, but the speakers aren't good, so
they might 'fight' each other and sound [even more] 'orrible.
I have this, so chose the least bad monitor and didn't run an audio feed to
t'other.

Either that, or if the speakers are identical (identical monitors),
split the audio and run left to one and right to the other. This gives
a "wider" sound, plus lets you turn the volume control down (less
distortion) to achieve the same amount of sound.
