Dan

I am not able to save an image of my screen by pressing
ctrl-prnt scrn, yet I'm able to do this on other
computers. Is this because I have a laptop? Is there
another way to do this? Thank you in advance for your
replys.

Try hitting Alt+Print Scrn. Open MS Paint and then hit
CTRL+V. That should post your screen image and allow you
to save it.

Yes you can you just don't know where to open the
clipboard to view the image. I thought the same thing.
Simply click PrtScr and the I can paste it in any
application I choose. Not so. I had to put a shortcut to
the clipbrd.exe on the desktop and then I could see it and
save it in a file of my nameing. The clipbrd.exe is
located in the windows\system32 file. If you can't see the
system32 folder then go into the control panel\folder
options\view and put a checkmark in the view system and
hidden files. Once you have the clipboard then hit PrtScr
and then go to your desktop and open the clipboard and
voila there it is. Have fun.

Greetings --

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display to the
clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to
the clipboard. To view the screen capture, open a graphics program,
such as MS Paint, and press <CTRL>+V. This will paste the contents of
the clipboard (your screenshot) into the open file, and allow you to
view it or save it as a file for later use.

Your laptop should have two ctrl buttons.... try using the one opposite the
one you've tried. I know my laptop can be funny that way.
