Using clips in Excel

When I insert a picture into a cell in an excel spreadsheet, it doesn’t show
in the print preview. Also, if I sort the spreadsheet, the pictures don’t
stay put in the correct columns/rows and they become distorted in size/shape.

I’m trying to insert thumbnail pictures of my paintings into a spreadsheet
for inventory and sorting purposes. Maybe this can't be done in Excel and if
not, are there other MS programs that will help? Any advice?

1. To print the picture, right-click on it and Format Picture>Properties.
Select "print object"

2. You cannot insert pictures into cells, only lay the pictures on top of
cells.

If the picture lies entirely within the cell boundaries and is set to "move
and size with cells" then sorting can take place successfully.

Thank you! I was able to sort by columns and retain the pictures within the
rows that they belong. Terrific!
I'm still stumped on printing the spreadsheet with the pictures in the rows.
When I right-click on a picture (within the spreadsheet), there is no option
to "print object". There are only options to "recolor", "brightness",
"contrast", "reset picture" and other things. Maybe it is because I'm using
Windows Vista. I'll investigate further and see if I can figure it out. I
appreciate your help and feedback. Leslie

When you right-click do you see "Format Picture"?

If so, select that and go to the Properties tab.

If you don't have that option then I don't know where to go.

What format is the picture?(file extension)

Are you running Excel 2007? I am not so formatting pictures may be
different in that version.

Windows Vista should have nothing to do with Excel functions.
