I'm using Office 2003 on a Toshiba laptop with XP Pro. Using bullet points or
numbers in Word, every time I hit enter it creates a new bullet or character
at the same level of the previous one (i.e. if I'm two tabs in - round bullet
-> outline bullet -> square bullet - hitting enter creates another square
bullet). This is fine when I want to keep writing notes at that level, and to
go forward a level is not a problem (just hit Tab), but when I try to go back
a level by hitting backspace or delete it just deletes the bullet. To create
a line with, say, an outline bullet instead of a square bullet, I have to go
back to the beginning of the line and go up and press the bullets button on
the toolbar, which creates a round bullet (the first stage), and then hit tab
to get the outline bullet. Is there any way to move back a level without
having to go through this process? I know it works in PowerPoint sometimes to
just hit backspace, but I've tried Shift+backspace, Ctrl + backspace etc.,
and so far nothing has worked. Thanks!!
