Using an MS-DOS program in XP

We have an old MS-DOS program that we can run from the XP Run: command, but it only gives us a small (4"x7") window to view the DOS program. We aren't able to increase the size of the Window to work with the DOS text clearly
Is there a way to either increase the window size or get to full screen operation or get back to the old C:\ prompt that used to be available in pre-XP days
Thanks for your help.

Try opening a command prompt first, resize it to your liking, then run the
program by typing the full path name at the command prompt. Or, you can
change directory to the location of the program, then simply type the
program name, without the path.

Open the CMD window, In the left upper corner of the
frame, right click on the the CMD logo, choose to set the
defaults, then after you open the program you can set the
fonts and window size you want.

You should be able to re-size two ways, which I just double-checked with one
of my DOS apps:

(1) Alt+Enter to toggle "full screen" or "window" mode.

(2) Right-click on the active title bar > Properties > Options > Display
Options, then select "full screen." The mode selected should remain in
effect until changed.

R-click in the upper bar of its window - Take Properties. On the Fonts
page choose a larger size font, and the window will resize to correspond
After OK, choose the 'Modify Shortcut that started this program', so it
will apply in future
