Using ADMT to build a new domain

Hi

Our current Active Directory structure needs to be completely re-structured
What are the implications of making an entire new domain and migrating all of the user accounts into this domain
Will there be any for-seeable problems with the current infra structure, eg DNS etc

There should not be any problems with this.

Another possibility would be to use ldifde to simply create an .ldf file
that you could then import into your new Domain. ADMT would be the better
choice but ldifde is a choice.

However, what do you mean by 'completely restructured'?

If you simply need to create OUs and move user account objects and groups
account objects and computer account objects into those newly created OUs
( that follow your 'new structure' ) I am not sure what ADMT or ldifde would
have to do with this. You simply create that 'strucuture' based on how you
need it and move the account to their new 'home'.

Now, if you are talking about new hardware and redesigning the forest then
you would look at ADMT.
