We have been upgraded to Access 2003 but we must still develop Access 2000
compatible apps as none of ourusers have 2003. When I try to make an MDE file
from my app in Access 2003, it refuses to do so. Is there any way to do this
? Any help appreciated.

Access 2002 and 2003 by default use the 2000 format unless you specify
otherwise. And each version of Access can only create an MDE file in its
own version. You will need to convert this database from the 2000 format
to 2002-2003 format before creating an MDE file in 2003 format. Doing
this will of course make a 2003 MDE, but it will not be able to be opened
by any other version (currently) other than 2003. So if you have to develop
for users with Access 2000 *and* wish to distribute 2000 MDE files, you
will need to make the MDE file on a computer with Access 2000.
