"[userX]'s Documents" missing on "Files Stored on this computer"

When I double-click on My Computer there is a section called "Files Stored
on this Computer". This section is currently displaying "[userX]'s
Documents" for all windows users but one. Does anyone know how to show the
folder for "[userX]'s Documents"?

Are there more than one user on this pc? When you are logged in, you will see "Shared Documents" plus the "currently logged-in-user" Documents.

The "other" belongs to the "other" user & they have to be logged in. Otherwise, you have to be the system administrator & log in.

I had this exact problem and I seemed to have repaired the names of the
folders but all the data that was in the folders is not there. Is there
anyway of finding it? I tried PC inspector but that did not locate it. It
was not deleted and I have a feeling that it is still there but the registry
doesn't see it. Can anyone help?

I also had this same problem, and Mr Vogel's solution worked nicely. The
only thing I would add is that I was unable to follow the last step that is
indicated as "note"... In each user's My Documents folder and subfolders,
open the Desktop.ini files and modify the Owner value under the
"DeleteOnCopy" section to match the user name. Not sure the purpose of this
step, or if it is necessary when adding in the missing USER for the Files
Stored on this Computer. Mr Vogel, your thoughts?

Amazing. I have been offline for a month and I stumble over this post. ;-)

Desktop.ini files have the System and Hidden attributes. To see any
desktop.ini files you have to have Display the contents of system folders
and Show hidden files and folders set in Folder Options.

Sample desktop.ini for My Documents:

[DeleteOnCopy]
Owner=Wesley P. Vogel
Personalized=5
PersonalizedName=My Documents

If Owner= has a different name than the user's, the My Documents folder is
labeled with a different user's logon name when a user views the folders by
using Windows Explorer.

If you are the only user, it shouldn't matter what Owner= is.

The following is a sample desktop.ini for my My Documents folder:

------------------------------------
[DeleteOnCopy]
Owner=Wesley P. Vogel
Personalized=5
PersonalizedName=My Documents
------------------------------------

The text between the lines (not including the lines) should appear exactly
as above in the My Documents\desktop.ini file. With the exception of my
name, that should be changed to protect the innocent. ;-)

[DeleteOnCopy] means that if you copy a desktop.ini and paste it into
another folder, the copy of the desktop.ini will be blank. Or if you copy
the folder elsewhere – for instance, to back up the contents – these entries
will not be copied.

If Owner= has a different name than the user's, the My Documents folder is
labeled with a different user's logon name when a user views the folders by
using Windows Explorer.

Personalized=5 I don't know what this means.

PersonalizedName=My Documents means that without the desktop.ini file, the
My Documents folder would be called Documents.

Going back to the original question, the user wrote that not all "users" were
appearing in the Files Stored on this Computer. Evidently, this user has a
household computer, with multiple users - just like my household. He found
it unusual that only some of the household users were showing up in that
screen..

So he wanted to know how to display all the users. The MS workaround
accomplished this. But that last step is confusing...
The sample you provided looks just like my desktop.ini file too. So I guess
we just want to be sure we are not missing a step in the workaround solution,
when there are multiple users to consider. I am the administrator of the
