Users profile.

OK everyone, I have a question about profiles. I was wondering if there is a
way to create a profile that every person who logs into the computer they use
this one, instead of having XP create a new profile each time. The reason is
we have a lab in our enviroment and the system takes a while to boot because
of the creation of the profile. I am not talking about creating a default
profile, I have that one down, but the use of just one profile on the
computer, kinda like the guest profile.

Those crafty programmers at Microsoft already though of that. ;-)

In a networked environment:

"How to Create a Base Profile for All Users"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/168475/en-us

The Default User is the default user profile for every new account. You
can customize this profile any way you like:

"How to Create a Custom Default User Profile"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319974/en-us

A tip: You should backup the Default User before changing it.

If you only want to standardize the Start Menu, Shared Folders,
Favorites and the Desktop, it's easier to customize the All Users profile.

i am going to take it for granted that you know how to get to the local user
adn groups within computer managerment

right click a user and select properties, then select the profile tab, if
the profuiles are local to that computer put drive letter:/folder
name/profile

you need to maekt he folders yourself first

then make a account that you want to make abase template profile with then
log in you msut set the profile path to the same plcoation set the settigns
log out then when any user logs on they get them settings all teh time

if you are making it network log on you need to make it
//comptuername/foldername

unfortnally because its not a server you cant maeka gorup and then make all
memeber of that group have the same profiel you haev to do it manually for
all profiles

I may have incorrectly assumed there is some servers involved - given the
original post stated, "... we have a lab in our enviroment and the system
takes a while to boot because of the creation of the profile ..."

Better link than the one I gave previously:
