Users in different countries error

I have a macro that is used by people in the US and in
Germany. The macro adds columns to check total debits vs.
total credits.

When I run it in the US, it works fine because it sees
50.25. But when the macro runs for one of the German
users, it sees 50,25 and it doesn't use the 25 in
calculating the total.

I can identify whether or not the user is from Germany in
the spreadsheet and I'm looking for some code or
suggestions on how to have the macro add up the German
numbers 50,25?

could you post your macro. In general which should no be an issue as
also for the german version VBA uses the dot as decimal separator

There might be a no-code solution to this, if you look into the 'regional
settings' on the computers concerned.
Unless you are actually looking for a '.' character in the figures, Excel
should return you a correct number assuming it has been entered according to
that countries settings.

If you are trying to CODE round regional differences, BEWARE DATES! they are
a complete bitch, I have spent many an unhappy day trying to find date
formatting bugs. :-(

eg 10/11/04 - 10th November (Europe), or 11th October (US) etc...
