Hello,

I have an old computer running Windows 2000, which has been running for
years without problems. I normally use it as a web server. It's named
QUASIMODO

I logged on today and found that my users home directory has changed from
"Documents and Settings\ame" to "Documents and Settings\ame.QUASIMODO"

So now all the programs that I have installed only for me will not be in
the Program menu and program that should start automatically will not
start...

Why has this happend and how do I fix it?

Hi - this is a group for Windows Update issues - you should probably post in
microsoft.public.win2000.general.

That said, it sounds like your profile got corrupted. Presuming c:\documents
and settings\ame is still there, copy what you wish out of the start menu
into your ame.quasimodo start menu folders.. and also anything else you
wish.
