What happens when they try?
Got a domain? Group policies in use? Can administrators do this
successfully?

does nothing.. No Domain .. Windows 2000 OS. No policies
in effect and no as the administrator I can't log out

Anything in your event logs?
Is Windows patched with all critical updates?
Got good antivirus, a good firewall, run anti-spyware apps such as
AdAware/Spybot?

Mal

Nothing in the event log

All patched up to date

and using the ISP as the firewall

Running Mcaffee 7 with the lastest patches and no anti-
spyware installed

Did this just start all of the sudden on all computers?? Did you apply any security
templates or such? Does logoff or shutdown -l work at the command line? I would try
booting into safe mode to see if it makes any difference and if it does you have an
issue with a startup application/service/driver. Also use Task Manager to shut down
running programs first to see if it helps. --- Steve

Its just one computer that we are using as an internet
machine. Its a brand new install. I'll try shutting down
from the command line.

Thanks
