username and password

I have just set up my IIS server on my computer. I have
Windows XP pro. I can edit my site from my computer with
Frontpage (I have Fronpage 2002) but when I go to another
computer and try to edit with Fronpage it asks for my
username and password. I put my site name in and what I
thought to be the password but it does not work. How do I
get this to work? Do I change the username and password?
How would I do this? I am very new to this so I need baby
steps. Thank you.

You would have to contact whoever administers the other
computer.

I don't understand. Like I said, I'm very new to this. I
am the admin. for my computer. For instance...if I want
to edit my website from another computer using Frontpage
when I try to logon it asks for my username and password
and I really don't know either one of them. I thought I
did but every thimg I try does not work. If I have to re-
do all of them (the passwords) that's fine but I don't
know how. If I need to post any more info I will. Thanks
for any replies!!

You have to create a user account on the computer you are trying to access,
so that you can access it from another computer.

You have a user account for logging on the "server" computer, but need to
create another user account for the other "workstation" computer to be able
to login to the "server" computer.

Also this is really not an FP issue with networking between computer, so you
might what to post to the Windows newsgroup and the IIS newsgroup as well.

Thank you for your help. I really did not know where to
start. I will post some questions in those forums. I
understand a little about what you are telling me
though. I thought I could access my website using
Frontpage from anywhere if I had the correct password and
username. (without setting up another account) Thanks for
your replies once again.

When you connect to web server from another computer, you must have a
account on the machine that you are connecting to, and in a network, each
machine/user need to have a logon.

Example, I have:

1 Windows 2003 server
2 Windows XP Home PCs
1 Windows XP Pro PC

The server has a admin/user account and a individual user account for each
the 3 PCs.
Each PC also has a individual user account for that machine.
Each PC also have a static IP address for connection to the server.

The same username and password should work on a given Web site,
regardless of whether you're accessing it locally or from another
machine.

Normally, this would be the same username and password you use after
pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and logging into Windows. It's *not* the DNS
name of your Web site, or localhost, or the name of your computer.
