userid/password

One of my e-mail accounts is always asking me for the usernameID/password,
after it is completed the logon popup window appears again requesting the
same info. My ISP advised that all is in order with the settings. The error
message I get is

Account: 'pophm.(ISP).ca', Server: 'pophm.(ISP).ca', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR mailbox for (my e-mail address) is not available', Port: 995,
Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

I have numerous other e-mails on this account (I get 11 with the ISP) that
are not having any problems. This e-mail is not the "host" e-mail. How do I
resolve this issue?

Thx and regards -- Joe --

Why do you feel that the name of your ISP needs to be edited out?
It is impossible for us to verify your settings without that piece of
information.

Assuming you meant pophm.sympatico.ca, and verifying the settings with
http://upgradecentre.sympatico.ca/FAQGuide.aspx?p=FAQ_GOE
it appears that your port and SSL settings are correct.
Frankly, this looks like a server error, but you can try deleting that
account and then recreating it.

Gary, my ISP is sympatico as you have noted. What you have advised I have
gone through numerous times but the problem still occurs. Sympatico advises
that I have a bug in this account and suggest that I reset my windows mail.
Will this affect the other accounts on this connection? Will the account
loose all its mail? How do I reset Windows Mail?

The e-mail account may eventually open and then there are 2 to 3 copies of
the same e-mail.

Thx and regards - Joe --

Resetting Windows Mail is a very tedious and labor-intensive procedure
that affects all accounts and emails, and I don't recommend it for you
because your issue does not sound like pervasive corruption of
Windows Mail, but it is limited to one account only. If you are still
interested in reviewing the reset procedure, go to

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/62560-windows-mail-problems.html

and scroll down to the section "How to Backup and Reset Windows Mail."

One way to determine if the problem is with the server or with Windows
Mail is to install a different email program. If you install Windows Live Mail:
http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview
it will import all your accounts and emails automatically. If you would rather
not have this automatic import done, then install something like Thunderbird.
Either of those two email programs can easily be uninstalled.
