User selects a range

Excel help says that Excel 97 does not support modeless
userforms. Is there another way that I can have a user
select a range through a userform (that is compatible
with both Excel 97 and Excel 2000)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

You can put a refedit control on the form. When the control has focus,
the user can navigate and select a range.

Use the RefEdit control.
They allow a user to specify, but not select a range.
