User Registration Form

I've been trying to set up a user registration page to password protect a few
pages of my web. From the home page, a user must first click on paypal button
to pay for data (pages I'm password protecting), or click Enter if they've
already paid. When I go to my website and make a test payment to paypal, it
takes me to the proper screen, a registration page to create a user id and
password. Once you enter that and click "Register Me" button, it just opens
another copy of that same registration page instead of taking me to the page
that the Register Me button has as a hyperlink. I can't figure out what I'm
doing wrong and my web host is no help. I have Front Page Extensions Active
and am using FP 2003. Help!

What you haven't told us is what type of server OS (windows or other?) you are running on
and how you are managing permissions on the folders/files (server side scripting and code snippet?)

I am using Windows XP, my host has FPSE active. I created a subweb and set
permissions under the tools>security>permissions>use unique permissions>only
registered users have browse access. I have the form set to send to
"REGISTRATION FORM HANDLER" as instructed in help, but I can't figure out
what that is supposed to do, or where to find the fields it is supposed to
collect. Will it create a database to check proper username/password or do I
need to create a database and send it there? I've followed all instructions I
have found on help and in this discussion group, but I still can't get it to
work. Also, on the registration pages it has in bold letters [FRONTPAGE
REGISTRATION COMPONENT]. This doesn't appear on those pages in my MS Front
Page program. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

You still need to tell us what O/S the host server is using. If windows IIS
server, the registration component will not work. It only works on Unix
based servers.

I am using 1and1.com as a host. The only thing I can find on their site about
their operating system is Fedora Core 2. I wasn't sure where to find that
information. This is the first website I've tried to set up and I'm pretty
ignorant about the whole thing.

To be sure you need to contact your web host.

The host is using Windows Server 2003. I've tried their tech support and they
are useless.
