User profiles on Win2k Term Server and Citrix Metaframe XPE

Toby

We have major problems with users accessing a desktop published application
using Citrix on Win2k TS SP3.

When a user logs off it takes forever to log off and looking in the event
log it mentions that the user profile could not be unloaded Access is
denied.

A number of people seem to be having these problems with no known fix.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to ensure user profiles are unloaded
correctly on Terminal/Citrix servers.

it is a Terminal server issue as it happens without Citrix being installed.

Thanks

Toby

There appears to be a utility called UPHClean that will
fix the problem. I have been able to get it yet. Here
are details. Let me know if you find it. Robin has not
answered my e-mails yet.

Robin Caron from Microsoft has made a greate utility
(UPHClean) that works as an windows service to get rid of
the problem that the user profile can't be unloaded like
event ID 1000, Windows cannot unload your registry file...
DETAIL - Access is denied.

The service works with Windows NT, Windows 200 and Windows
2003 in every language and is very easy to install.

For detailed information about the "User Profile Hive
Cleanup" utility please read this uphclean.txt

To get the UPHClean Utility please mail Robin Caron at

EventID 1000, Source: Userenv is a very common
one. Have a look here for a large number of causes and possible

Additional hotfixes for this issues (that haven't made it yet to
