Hi

Sorry I already posted this a few days ago and missed the replies.
So if you did give some input I'd be grateful to hear from you again,
this time I'll check tonight :-)

I went to....... System properties\Advanced\User Profiles\Settings.
And I noticed there was two Profiles there.

One for......... Paul\Administrator...839 KB.
and the other. Paul\Dad.................1.47GB.

I thought there would be only one profile there! Is this correct or do I
have to delete one of them?

I am the Administrator and sole user on my PC.

I think you should have a strong word with your dad..

If you don't want your Dad around anymore, delete him

I am new to XP but learning as fast as I can. I believe XP creates a base
Administrator profile by default. You named your computer "Paul" during
setup, so each profile will start with Paul/. So the administrator account
is Paul/Administrator. You named your user profile "Dad" during
setup/whatever. This is the one you are using and the one that shows when
you log on. It is the Paul/Dad account. I don't think you should delete it
just yet.
I don't know why there is an administrator profile or what it is used for.
Perhaps someone else will answer that one.

That is normal p.mc

After you finished setting up a computer, you will end up with two
users. The Administrator user and the one you created at the
installation steps. Your user may have the Administrator power, but
you are not the Administrator username. You can view your users
under the computer management console:

- go to My Computer > Right Click on properties > Select Manage...
- Computer Management > System Tools > Local Users and Groups > Users

I notices that your Paul\Dad profile size is around 1.47GB. My
suggestion is move some of your files from your desktop to another
folder. Reducing the size of your profile will help speed up your
computer.
