user page...desperate!!!

um...on the page where you can choose which user to log in as, it shows how
many new messages that user has unread. how can you change that email
address that it is referring to? my cousin used my comp and now it links to
her account instead of mine...btw...its a hotmail address...

Use the TweakUI Power Toy to remove the Unread Mail message.

What email program are you using?
If Outlook Express, Tools, Accounts, Mail tab, how many accounts are listed?
Is yours the default?
If the Hotmail account is shown, you can remove it.

Please read the users post properly before you post. He did not want to
altogether remove that but he actually wanted his own to come there instead
of his friends.

hey ellen,
here's the solution to your problem. May seem to be a long procedure but it
wont take more than five minutes if you follow it properly.
First to delete your friends information that is stored. open up control
panel and double click on user accounts.
towards the bottom of that windows you would have your user account listed.
double click on that.
this opens a new window and in the left pane you should have the first
option that is manage my network passwords.
now you should have a window that talks about "stored user names and
passwords".
In the box below you would have a single entry which would be
"passport.net\*(passport)" ofcourse without the quotes.
select it and on the right you will have the remove button. click that and
that will remove it. now another dialog box will pop up just click on ok.
now click on close in that dialog box and you would be back to the "what do
you want to change about your account window".
now the second part to add your own information.(you will need to be
connected to the internet for this step to complete).
click on the last option in this window that is "set up my account to use a
..net passport"
when you click on that you will be presented with a add a .net passport
wizard.
when you click on next make sure the option "yes, use my existing email
address" is selected and click on next.
On the next screen make sure the "yes, sign in with my passport network
credentials" is selected and click on next.
now in the window presented type in your hotmail or msn account information.
Here make sure the check towards the bottom of the screen is checked ie there
is a tick besides "associate my passport network account with my windows user
account". and now click on next and on the next screen click on finish.

That's it. you will now have your email address being listed instead of your
friends'.

Malke, thank you for the link to Use the TweakUI Power Toy to remove the
Unread Mail message. there's nothing more annoying than having reminders of
messages, when am not even in the window yet. the tool works like a charm!
