IIRC, previous versions only gave you the impression that you could save
anything to do with user options, but that setting was actually
nonfunctional. For example, see "WD2000: "User Options" File Location Path
Has No Function" at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=191940. Although the
Summary begins, "The User options setting is no longer used as in some
earlier versions of Microsoft Word. If a path is set for User options, the
path is ignored by Word and has no effect," it's unclear what "earlier
versions" are referred to since there are comparable articles for Word 97
and Word for Windows 95.
