User ID's and passwords

When you clear the history on IE it erases user ID's and passwords for various websites that users need to log on to. Once you clear the history how to turn back on the "remember ID and password" function for the browser?

I think it happens each time you go to one of those websites, in the
password box that comes up there should be a checkbox for "Remember
Password."

I think you have to do it each time you go to the website for the first
time. There doesn't seem to be any universal setting in IE....
