user form

Where can I teach myself to make a user form?
I got a book called "Using Excel 2000" to teach myself excel, it is a great
book. I did an entire workbook with it step by step, for rental units. It
tracks rent, tenant info, bills, past tenants and cross-references between
tabs. It even changes the color to red if the rent is late. (I'm kind of
proud of it)
Now I would like to try a "user form" to enter data I enter often . I'm
not sure how to do this or even how it is used. Is the user form part of my
workbook, or is it a new workbook that looks back to mine? I am the only one
that uses the workbook so I don't have a security issue. I know it will need
a pivot table.
I have the tenants across the columns and the month's down the rows.
When a tenant pays the rent for that month I put the date he pays in the
cell. what I would like to do is pick from a list the tenant, the month he
is paying for, and a drop down menu to pick the date he pays. and a comment
for notes in the cell, then have that info fill in on my "rent" tab.

Thank You
Rusty
ps. I don't want to give all the credit to the book, I learned allot in all
of the newsgroups. Thank you to everyone...
