user-changeable drop-down lists

I have made the drop-down lists using the Validation tool. I have also made
a drop-down list using the combo box from form control. But what I need to
do is to make it possible to either pick from the drop down list or type in
your own response.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
Using Data Validation drop-down list, uncheck "Show error alert after invalid
data has been entered"
